In the last 100 years, what invention had the most impact on your life? Why?
The first electric light where you screwed up a light bulb. Prior to that, we used gas.
What was your favorite decade? Why?
In the 1930’s, because I was a young fellow and enjoyed life. I remembered working for $3 a week. I gave $2 to my mom and with a $1, I enjoyed life. I could take a date to Coney island and get a hot dog for $0.05. All for a dollar!
What advice would you give to a high school graduate today?
You got to keep your head in the books and keep up with the change in the times.
What is the most important lesson you learned in your life?
Be honest but very kind to people. All the good I’ve done are all coming back to me even at my age.
What leader in the past century impressed you the most? Why?
Roosevelt. The country was in a pretty bad shape. He did a a good job with social security. And Reagan, because he brought respect back to this country.
