In the last 100 years, what invention had the most impact on your life? Why? 
The computer. E-mail allows me to stay in contact with family, former students, friends interested in the life of a 100-yr. old and others. I do a lot of research on my computer. I also do a lot of writing about the history of my life.
What was your favorite decade? Why? 
The 30's. I established my life's work as a school teacher and I married my life's partner, Betty.
What advice would you give to a high school graduate today? 
Don't be in a hurry to choose your life's occupation. Give careful consideration to all of your options. Prepare for college, attend college and complete your degree.
What is the most important lesson you learned in your life? 
I learned the living your values consistently is very important. My values include being truthful in word and in deed, recognizing that all men/women are created equal, that religion is a personal decision, and that democracy is the best form of government.
What leader in the past century impressed you the most? Why? 
Franklin D. Roosevelt He was a strong civil rights leader.
